- Streets
- Street intersections. When and where will stop signs be placed?
- Speeds. Will we have speed limits? Suggested speeds were 15-20 MPH. Speed bumps were also suggested.
- Main entrance. Could someone contact the Highway Department to look into the possibility of putting a traffic light at the intersection of Hwy 16 & Cedar Trail?
- Repairs. it is our understanding that Continental is responsible to repair the streets during construction, when will this be done?
- Connecting street. Where did this come from? It does not seem that anyone present was aware that there would be a connecting road between us and Staton Run. We did not paymore for our homes in a gated community only to have people slipping in through this road! If you will be placing a gate here, it needs to meet the same restrictions of the minimum 6 foot fences that are along the back side of everyone else's property connecting it.
- Main Entrance Gate
- Battery backup. The main gate is not equipped with a battery backup - this needs to be looked into. Other gated communities have battery backup entrance gates.
- Gate is too high. The Helotes Police Department notified one resident that the main gate is too high off the ground. There is enough room for someone to slip under and get it.
- Enforce one car entrance. Too many people are letting other cars slip in behind them. We need to stp and wait for the gate to close behind us and not allow others to follow. there is no way we know that the person behind us is truly a resident. Suggestions to solve this were; each car owned by residents would have a windhsiled sticker that other homeowners would recognise, or have a UPC symbol on vehicle that the gate would recognise.
- Codes. Who has been given a 'pass' code and can this code be changed after periods of time goes by? Ex: Pizza Hut delivery person gets in - who might they tell the code to??? Something to think about. The gated community was an attraction to all of us for safety and security!!
- Solicitors
- Solicitation by permit only. Helotes police department also notified someone that there is a City ordinance for Helotes that solicitors are to obtain a permit to solicit. Anyone who has obtained a permit will have an armband. Please be aware of this. Everyone needs to play a part in enforcing this - don't be afraid to let the solicitor know about this permit.
- Sign at entrance. We would like a sign at the entrance notifying solicitors of this ordinance.
- How are they entering? See 2b - probably this way. Or they are entering before the gates are closing and side street from Staton Run. There are too many non-residents in the community after the gates are closed, who are not guests of residents.
- Construction Workers
- Hours. What are their hours? Shouldn't there be a superintendent present if they are going to be here until 9:00 at night??
- Trash. Can there be something done about the contruction trash?? Food bags, cigarette butts, etc. is not the type of landscaping that we paid for.
- Association dues
- Coverage What are the dues paying for right now? gate (not always working), street lights, and landscaping (the front lots are an eye sore).
- Front corner lots with large trees. Can the association coem together to purcgase a lot or two to construct a recreation area? It seems that instead of using a lot to put in a street that no one knew about - we could have used it to put in an area for community use.
- Community News
- Bulletin Board. Can we have a bulletin board constructed near the main entrance for news and happenings? The future upkeep of this board could be the responsibility of the Newsleter committee.
- Landscaping. Who enforces the deed restriction, as far as landscaping, etc.?
- Security
- Vandalism. Someone has had some windows broken out of their vehicles. We think this problem has arisen since the installment of the road between the next subdivision and ours (see 1e), or it could be due to non-residents hangin gout after gate-closing hours.
- Theft. If vandalism is occuring, the the opportunity for theft is there, we need to come up with a prevention plan. Doing something about the main gate and side street will hopefully help.
